Having knowledge of the equipment to be used and be conversant with method statements, risk assessments & permits to work
Identifying and maintaining PPE appropriate for use
Conducting pre-excavation checks
Agreeing communication signals and emergency procedures
Understanding safe positioning for a Excavation Marshall Banks Person
Defining and identifying the different types of underground services
Identifying risks that excavations can present and how people may be affected
Carrying out exploratory tasks
Identifying the risks of excavating near to underground services, and the safe digging practices that should be adopted
Carrying out all end of shift and safe storage procedures
