This telescopic forklift course is aimed at people who require a formal qualification for operating an industrial telescopic handler.
We will conduct a learner analysis to identify the duration of telehandler training required for those with limited or no experience, whereas experienced operators can attend a one day Experienced Worker Assessment (Test Only).
Understanding the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and responsibilities as an operator
Understanding the manufacturer's handbook for the Telescopic Handler
Locating and identifying major components of the machine and explaining their function
Locating and identifying key controls and explaining their function
Conducting all pre-operational and running checks in accordance with manufacturer's and legislative requirements
Safely mounting and dismounting the Telescopic Handler
Starting and stopping the engine and safely moving the Telescopic Handler off and stopping it safely
Configuring the Telescopic Handler for travel and manoeuvre it safely landen and unladen, over varying terrain and rough ground, in open and confined areas
Conducting all necessary safety checks at the work area
Manoeuvring the Telescopic Handler to the work area and correctly configuring in readiness to carry out lifting and load handling tasks
Carrying out load handling tasks
Lifting and transferring loads accurately and safely at different locations
Loading and unloading external transport safely
Fitting, adjusting and removing attachements
Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation
Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
This course can be delivered at our venue near Portsmouth or at your venue if you have the required space and equipment.
